We are also filling the air with pollution from cars and factories, that makes it hard to breathe.

Smog is a mixture of fog and smoke. Sometimes it traps chemicals near the ground and people die from breathing in the toxic (poisonous) air.

Pollution also keeps the atmosphere from letting out energy. This is causing the earth to slowly get warmer. Many plants and animals, including people, are affected.

Pollution also affects the oceans and creates acid rain (rain mixed with toxic chemicals).

If we want to continue to live on this planet, we need to start taking better care of it!
