Water is a liquid. You can pour water from one container to another. You can swim in water. You can put things in water, like a boat. Fish are in water.

We know that a propeller will push a boat through water. We know that a fish or a person can swim through water. Water can be pushed through pipes or hoses. If you squeeze a balloon full of water it will spray out!

When we know what water will do, we can build faster boats or better pipes.
