Kites | page 1 |
Kites are fun. Kites are easy to make. Kites are easy to fly. You just need a few materials:
Plan your kite before you put it together. You can make a box kite, or a traditional diamond shaped kite. You may want to bend or bow it slightly so it will have more "lift" when the wind hits it. The wind must hit the kite at the right angle for it to fly. Now, ask someone to help you put the sticks and paper together. Next, find an open field with no trees or wires. A good wind will help, too. Tie the string on to the kite. Hold the kite in the air and then walk or run against the wind. Let the string out as the kite goes up. If the kite dives or swings around you may need to put a longer tail on it. Keep trying! The fun you will have is worth it!
