Hand Carry The French Anemometer - Saturday, June 22, 1901

The History: Chanute sent Wilbur a short note. He conveyed that he had received Wilbur's letters of May 20th and June 19th in which Wilbur had discussed the best time for Chanute to visit and that the brothers planned to leave for Kitty Hawk to experiment with the new glider by July 10th.

Chanute replies today that he hopes to visit "within a very few days" and that he will bring the French anemometer with him. The instructions are written in French (which the brothers do not understand). Consequently, Chanute will need to explain how to measure velocity with the instrument.

If Chanute can not make the trip he will express the instrument to the Wrights.
