The History: Orville wrote in his personal diary that they "Spend day raising building with assistance of Dan Tate. Sawed lumber for addition."

The Wrights continued to restore their 1901 camp building from the damage it suffered during the past year. Wilbur and Orville planned on living in comfort while they conducted their gliding experiments in North Carolina this year. In addition to the repairs they constructed an addition to the 1901 campsite building. Although they called the addition the "living room" it was actually a kitchen, dining room and living room.
