Beginning at about 10:30 A.M., the brothers continued working on their 1902 gliding focusing on the front rudder.

Wilbur Wright Flying In the 1902 Glider

Orville and Wilbur's father, Milton Wright, was a bishop in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. The entire Wright family came to their father's aid over a church matter. A layperson, Millard Keiter, had mishandled funds of the United Brethren Publishing House. Bishop Milton Wright (their father) felt the person should be dismissed and possibly prosecuted. Other church members wanted to keep the matter quiet to avoid embarrassment and a scandal. Instead they tried to remove Bishop Wright from office.

Wilbur made a careful assessment of the publishing house's finances and wrote a tract (pamphlet) exposing these individuals. (The White River Conference was a major annual church meeting.)
