Too Heavy To Fly! - Thursday, December 3, 1903

The History: Wilbur and Orville's father, Bishop Milton Wright, had been traveling. Arriving back in Dayton at 6 PM, he "found Orville at home after some machinery for the boy's flying machine". The bishop noted in his personal diary, "They had the second time broken the shaft to the propeller."1

Carry Kayler was a young women Katherine Wright employed to help with the Wright household. While Orville was home, Carry walked through the yard with a bag of groceries. Orville teased her saying "Carry, you feed me too much. I'll get to heavy to fly."2
