Wright Again

Wright Again

The Patent Application - Monday, March 23, 1903

The History: Today, Wilbur and Orville Wright filed a patent for their flying machine. Unfortunately they did not consult with a patent attorney and the patent will be rejected and sent back to them twice in the next four months. The patent office conveyed that some of the wording was difficult to understand and vague [not specific enough].

The Wrights would not consult with a patent attorney until 1904 and at that time will be advised to patent their system of control instead of filing a patent for a flying machine.
