Paper Tent

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • stiff paper measuring 5 inches by 8 inches

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

one Talk with the children about the basics of lift and how air moves around an airfoil.

two Pass out a piece of stiff paper to each child and ask them to fold the paper in half. It makes a paper tent.

three Have the children stand the paper tent on their desk.

four Ask the children to blow under the paper tent. Have them blow as hard as they can on the tent and watch what happens.

five Then ask the children to blow as hard as they can against the side of the paper tent, and observe what is happening to the tent.
