| WHY? |
- Smoke and other gases rise upwards into the cold air of the earth's
atmosphere. But if there is a layer of warm air below the cold, smoke and
fumes will be trapped in it. This happens in your jar, just as dirty smog
is trapped by the layer of warm air over a city.
ASSESSMENT: Can the student communicate what they

warm air into the colder air of our atmosphere, the fumes will be trapped
and this is how smog is created. |
Student is abler to communicate that the rising gases will be trapped
in our atmosphere creating smog.
Student will be able to communicate that a dirty cloud is produced
and it is smog.
