It's Raining

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • large glass or bowl (a jar will do)
  • aluminum foil
  • scissors
  • 3-5 ice cubes
  • ruler and pencil
  • salt
  • twist of paper
  • matches (adult supervision)

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

one Pour water into the jar, then tip it out again. The tiny drops of water left will make the air inside the jar damp.

two Cut out a circle of foil about 2cm larger than the neck of the jar.

three Put the ice cubes on the foil and sprinkle salt over them.

four Ask an adult to light the paper and drop it into the jar.

five Quickly put the foil and ice cubes on top of the jar and press the foil to the sides.
