Comparing Dinosaur Wings To Birds And Planes
WHY? question_guy
Because the fascination with flight never diminishes, the arena of flying dinosaurs has peeked the interest of all ages. Flight by animals extends back in time to the very beginning of vertebrates (animals with a backbone). However, our understanding of these flyers (the flying dinosaurs) is not very complete and is very controversial in how good these animals were as flyers, what their origins were and what became of them. As with our understanding of most dinosaurs, the various beliefs held by some scientists today are challenged by other scientists. Our understanding of birds has become apart of our application in understanding flying dinosaurs. And man imitated birds to make an airplane. Thus, flight has taken a full course to help us become airborne.

four Student is able to communicate an understanding of what the flying dinosaurs' wings were structured like, how their wings are similar to a bird and an airplane, and if the flying dinosaur was a glider or really did sustain powered flight.

three Student is able to communicate some understanding of what the flying dinosaurs' wings were structured like, how their wings are similar to a bird and an airplane, and if the flying dinosaur was a glider or really did sustain powered flight.

two Student is able to communicate a little understanding of what the flying dinosaurs' wings were structured like, how their wings are similar to a bird and an airplane, and if the flying dinosaur was a glider or really did sustain powered flight.

one Student is able to communicate a small portion of understanding about the flying dinosaur, its wings and its similarity to a bird and airplane wing. The student can talk about the possibility of whether the flying dinosaur only was a glider or able to sustain powered flight.
