WHY? Scientific observation is the first level of being a scientist. Without it no other part of science would exist. This primary function has to be understood to make good "scientists" of our children. In observing dinosaurs the child has a wonderful opportunity to exercise his/her powers of observation with a fascinating area of study. ASSESSMENT: Can the student communicate what they observed?

Child is able to communicate at least 4 different observations about the dinosaur models. Child is able to communicate at least 3 different observations about the dinosaur models. Child is able to communicate at least 2 different observations about the dinosaur models. Child is able to communicate at least 1 observation about the dinosaur models.
