Discuss with the children the material in the Teacher Text, Science
Concept, and Overview. Make sure that each of them has at least a
partial understanding of the material.

Proceed outside to the cement area with the wall where you will do
the experiment together. Talk about safety with the children.

|
Have one student at a time bounce the rubber ball on the cement
several times and then on the wall several times. Make sure that each
student has a turn.
|
|
Return to the classroom and discuss together what has happened in
relationship to Newton's Second Law of Motion, kinetic energy, collision,
and absorption.

|
As a class write a one page paper on the experiment.
