WHY?
|
|
-
Because of the gravitational forces that pull on your body you
can calculate your center of gravity. The gravitational force that acts
on your body is called weight. Your weight on earth is more concentrated
because the gravitational pull
is great, but when the astronauts were on the moon they could jump great
distances easily because of their 'weightless' condition. The
gravitational pull on the moon is almost nothing. The moon is a great
place for distance running.

ASSESSMENT: Can the student communicate
what they observed?
|
 |
|
|
Student is able to calculate their center of gravity from the
measurements that they got from this experiment. They can explain how
they got the measurements and why this calculates their center of
gravity.
