MATERIALS NEEDED:

one or more myths written at grade level

paper or cards

markers

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

one Begin by putting the student's name on a card. How many syllables are in the name?

two Mark the card with a "bump" over each syllable.

three Have the children clap the person's name.

four Repeat using the names of the mythological characters names in the myths.

five Clap the names and mark the syllables on cards using the "bumps" over the syllables.
