Flights of Fantasy: A Project About a Myth

MATERIALS NEEDED:

paper

pens/pencils

scissors

popsicle sticks/ribbon/tag board (for bookmarks, puppets, story cube, poster)

glue

glue

paper sacks/construction paper (puppets)

pantyhose/hanger/yarn (character mask)

old newspapers/wallpaper paste/paintbrush/tempura paint/ recycled objects/corrugated cardboard (setting map)

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

one Choose a project from the extensions list.

two Prepare the materials.

three Explain the objective to the students and show an example of the project you have made.

six Model the steps of the project for the class.

five Have students work together if that is more efficient for them.

six Have students collect materials.

seven Begin the project.

eight Supervise the projects closely.

nine If more time is needed, assign for homework.

ten Collect the projects and have students present them to the class.

eleven Display the projects in class and/or for parent night.
