Predicting

MATERIALS NEEDED:

book cover, book title or first paragraph of a myth related to flight
a picture from the beginning of the book
paper
pencils, pens, markers, crayons

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

Look at the cover, the picture, the title of the book or have the children listen to the first paragraph of the myth.

Brainstorm some ideas from the children about what they think the whole myth story will be.

Have the children draw a picture about the myth or if they work in groups, have them make a picture that they group feels is representative of the myth as they see and predict it

For older children, have them write their story according to how they predict it will continue and end.

Later, read the rest of the myth and see you the author actually wrote the myth.
