Sequencing Events in a Myth

MATERIALS NEEDED:

set of pictures of a myth or a paragraph of a myth printed in big print on paper from this Web textbook

scissors for the children

paste

blank paper

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

The children get a copy of the pictures or the paragraph of a myth where the sequence of events is obvious.

Read the story or paragraph out loud with the children.

Discuss the sequence of events with the children until they understand the sequence.

Assess their understanding by having the children cut the pictures or the paragraph into sentences. They mix up the pictures or sentences.

The children paste their final decisions about the sequence of events on the blank paper.

Discuss the various answers from the children and what their reasons were for their decisions.
