WHY? This is Bernoulli's Principle: Faster moving air exerts a lower pressure than the air that is not moving. The faster moving air decreases the air pressure over the paper. The air pressure below the paper is greater, causing the paper to rise. ASSESSMENT: Can the student communicate what they observed?

The student is able to communicate that the faster moving air caused a decrease in pressure over the paper. The greater pressure below the paper causes it to lift. The student is able to communicate that faster moving air changes pressure. The student is able to communicate that blowing over the paper made it lift. The student is able to communicate that the paper moves.
