How Do I Use the Pull-Down Menus?
image

The pull-down menus displayed at the top of the Netscape document window can be used to open new windows, revisit favorite Web pages, setting preferences, accessing e-mail and newsgroups as well many other things. Many of the menu items have a corresponding button on the toolbar or on the directory bar that performs the same function.

Shortcuts: You will notice that many of the menu items have a command symbol followed by another character on the right-hand side of the menu. This is called a keyboard shortcut. Instead of using a button or the pull-down menu you many choose to use the keyboard shortcut by holding down the command key (the one with the apple on it) while typing the other character. For example, if I wanted to Quit Netscape, I would hold down the command key while typing the letter Q.

Each item on the pull-down menu bar is called, surprisingly enough, a menu. If you position your pointer over one of the items and hold down the mouse button, a small window with several options on it will pop up. You can select an option by dragging your pointer down the menu until the option you want to use is highlighted. Then release the mouse button.
