VRML links

In order to view the VRML object  present in the NASA Tour section, you must first download the appropriate VRML plug-in for your platform.

You will find VRML plug-ins for download using the following links:

Macintosh and PC:

If using the Cosmo VRML Player (recommended)

Once you have installed the plug-in and loaded the VRML object the control panel will look like this

use Go, Slide, and Tilt to move around.

If it looks like this

use Rotate, Pan, and Zoom to manipulate object.

Change Controls will switch between panels.

Navigation

To move around in a 3D world, click the various buttons and then drag the pointer in the Cosmo Player window. Once you click a control, it stays selected until you click another.
 
Go
Go button
Click and then drag to move in any direction.
Slide
Slide button
Click and then drag to slide straight up and down or to slide right or left. 
Tilt
Tilt button
Click and then drag to look up or down or from side to side.
Rotate Rotate button Click and then drag to rotate an object.
Pan Pan button Click and then drag to pan right, left, up, or down.
Zoom Zoom button Click and then drag up to zoom in or drag down to zoom out.

Seek b7aseek.gif (1439 bytes) Click Seek and then click an object to move closer to it.


Interacting with Active Objects

An active object is one that will do something--like play a sound or an animation--when you click it or click-and-drag it.

When you pass the pointer over an active object, the pointer changes:
